Tammy was our companion, our guide, our foundation of LadySlipper Kees, our pack leader, Karen’s office manager (and sometimes slave driver), Geof’s show girl and travelling companion, and Keeshond ambassador to all she met. She was our first show dog. Together, Tammy and Geof learned to show, finished AKC and CKC championships, achieved national ranking in both the USA and Canada, and introduced us to a circle of 2-legged and 4-legged friends.

Tammy was truly LadySlipper’s apprentice from the day they met. Tammy learned to take care of us from LadySlipper. She was always quick to smile with us to share our joy, to lick and pat us to calm us when we were upset, and to respond with immediate licks and attention when one of us sneezed. Tammy has passed the sneeze patrol behavior to several of her kids and grandkids (nature or nurture?). We always worried that a judge would sneeze in the show ring and Tammy would rush to provide Keesie aid.

Tammy abdicated pack leadership to her son, Silver, and remained the matriarch of the LadySlipper pack, watching over every litter of pups and approving their new families. With her legacy of LadySlipper Kees, she is still taking care of us.
