Stormy

Can Ch Ladyslipper's Stormy Knight, NA, NAJ

May 1, 2000 - May 30, 2012

Sire: Can/Am Ch Yan-KEE Marquis, CHOF, ROMX (Leroy)

Dam: Am/Can Ch Fantasia LadySlipper’s Apprentice, COM (Tammy)

Stormy was the puppy we expected to finish his championship first from our “Hell Hound” litter. He was anxious to please, yet strong-willed and mischievous. He articulated his wants and opinions with delightful vocalizations, punctuated by body language to help mere humans understand. He would plant himself next to Edie’s athletic shoes to tell her it was time to walk and visit his neighbors. Stormy knew each home in the area and would stop on his walks to greet a dog or accept pets and hugs from kids and adults. Sometimes he would wait at a driveway, expecting his usual greeting and giving his neighbors time to assemble.

All little dogs were attracted to Stormy. He always loved to play with puppies and little dogs—especially Bischons—which correlated to any little white dog. He also watched out for them, calmly intervening as self-appointed guardian if he perceived danger. Stormy graciously accepted compliments and attention everywhere he went. When Edie packed for a trip, he would get in her suitcase to express his willingness to come along.

Stormy learned to pose patiently to indulge Edie’s photography hobby, until he decided that game was no longer fun and did something silly or just gave the look that said he was done. Always active, Stormy and Edie preferred agility to conformation, and continued non-competitive agility as play on their own mini- agility course and at the training center well beyond their AKC Novice Agility titles.
